Porch Steps of a home built in 1909 Before and After
This home was built in 1901. The porch deck and steps are of African Mohogany. The white trim and lattice is made of cut PVC (the same material used to make vinyl or PVC fencing). With proper maintanence, these steps should last another 120 years.
Front Portch Before and After
Because this two-unit apartment had only one entry door (no side or back doors), the existing solid concrete steps, posts, and awning had to be demolished and the new porch deck, steps, and temporary railing had to be built in one day, so that the tenants could access their apartment.
The permanent railing, posts, and awning were then built.
Deck
We only use steel post on all our deck railings. Railing last longer and they make repairs easier.
